PLAYBACK

Controls that stay focused on the video.

The exact controls depend on the media and the playback engine supplied by the device. A control appears only when the current platform and stream make that function available.

Play, pause and seek

On a TV remote, press Enter during playback to show controls, then use the directional keys to move between actions. The timeline can seek in on-demand files that report a usable duration. Live streams and some network sources may not be seekable. On touch devices, tap the video to reveal the overlay.

Audio and subtitles

The track selectors list audio and subtitle tracks exposed by the device player. If no alternate track is reported, the relevant button may be unavailable. Embedded, sidecar and streamed subtitles are handled differently by each operating system, so availability can vary for the same source.

Speed and screen fit

Playback speed is intended for compatible on-demand media; a live channel or native player may restrict it. Screen-fit options change how the image fills the display but do not alter the original file. Use the mode that avoids unwanted cropping for your screen.

TV channel changes

In the Channels area, directional navigation changes the highlighted item and confirmation opens the selected channel. Staying on the same channel does not repeatedly restart it. The app may prepare recently used provider data locally to make the menu respond faster on the next visit.

Leaving playback

Use Return to close controls first and then return to the previous screen. If a native platform player is active, Txcc stops and releases it when you leave so another video can start cleanly.

Playback failure is not always a network failure. Test another known-compatible file from the same source. If that plays, the original file may use a codec or profile not decoded by the device.
